Selecting an HPLC system starts with the application, not the instrument brochure. Define the methods, sample load and detector requirements first.
Start with the method
List the methods you expect to run, including flow range, detector type, column dimensions and sample throughput.
Consider automation
For routine QC, autosampling and method management can reduce repetitive work and improve consistency.
Plan for expansion
Leave room for additional detectors, accessories and software capability where future applications are likely.
